Japan Federation of

Construction Management Engineers Associations

(JCM)

In Japan, according to law, resident engineer for construction supervision and management at each construction site must have national license or equivalent capability.

There is a Construction Management Engineers Association in each prefecture. These 47 local associations compose Japan Federation of Construction Management Engineers Associations.

1.      Purpose of Foundation

To improve the skill of the Construction Management Engineers.

To promote social status of the Construction Management Engineer.

2.      History

1969 Establishment of the licensing examination system for Construction management Engineers

1974 Starting of a primary-type of the Japan Federation of Construction management Engineers Associations

1992 Establishment of the Japan Federation of Construction management Engineers Associations under the guidance of the Ministry of Construction Japan

1997 Opening of Homepage of JCM( in July)
 

3.      Main Activities of the Federation

a.      Publication of the bulletin "JCM Monthly Report" ( Circulation: 70,000 / month )

b.      Seminars

c.      Publication of engineering books

d.      Request to improve regulations of working conditions for member engineers

e.      CPDS (Continuing Professional Development System) Operation

4.      Membership

JCM Membership now comprises 50 Associations.
